Secondary Education
Bring your class to the Nationaal Onderduikmuseum and discover the stories of Markt 12!
From the first year of secondary school to the final exam year, the Nationaal Onderduikmuseum offers a range of educational programmes. Experience the history of the wartime residents of Markt 12 at the original location.
Our educational programmes on hiding, freedom, and resistance are interactive by design.
The museum offers four programmes for secondary education, which we adapt to the level and age of the students. These programmes introduce students to the key themes of Hiding, Resistance, and Freedom.
All programmes are available in both Dutch and German. In consultation with the teacher, we can create a bespoke programme tailored to your pupils’ needs.

Making Choices; Then and Now
Every day you make choices. What should I wear? What course should I study? Should I get a part-time job? In wartime, circumstances are far more difficult, and choices can be life-threatening. Do I work for the enemy or join the resistance? Do I sign the declaration of loyalty to continue my studies, or do I go into hiding? Students research the choices made by individuals during the war and their consequences. These choices are then linked to modern-day scenarios. This programme is supervised by a museum educator.
