Freedom Programme Achterhoek and Liemers

Since 2020, municipalities in the Achterhoek and Liemers regions have been working together on initiatives to celebrate and strengthen freedom. The German border region is also closely involved in this collaboration. This partnership has resulted in several resources developed for use by organisations and residents alike.

Chain of Freedom

Municipalities in the Achterhoek, Liemers, and the German border region commemorate and celebrate freedom together. By connecting activities and initiatives, a ‘Chain of Freedom’ is formed—sharing stories, bringing generations together, and reflecting on the true meaning of liberty. Watch the Chain of Freedom video for a glimpse into these activities.
