Connection is always there. Only sometimes we need to be reminded of it.
And that is exactly what Links of Light does. It makes connection tangible, tangible, visible.
With Links of Light we put the connection between people in the foreground.
Think of it as a reminder that we are one – a link of light.

Links of Light was designed by Evelien Nijenhuis.
It was realized together with many parties from our region, printing by Kempers, packaging by day care by Estinea, Stadskamer as a test panel.
The video was made by Claire van Dam and the lyrics by Bram Schweckhorst.

This is Links of Light:

A ‘Links of Light’ package consists of 10 sheets of links and 10 instruction sheets.
Each sheet contains 2 links that can be easily assembled.
You can then link these links into a long, symbolic garland of light.

Links of Light is a free package that is made available to the participating municipalities.

Participating municipalities: Aalten, Berkelland, Bronckhorst, Doetinchem, Duiven, Montferland, Oost Gelre, Oude IJsselstreek, Westervoort, Winterswijk and Zevenaar.

Sometimes we need a small gesture to feel how strongly connected we are.

As a partner of the Regional Program, we would also like to mention here: Oosterlicht – an initiative by Hans van den Hurk in which light rays are placed in the region in the dark winter period that are connected to each other in the sky: the connecting light. This light connects various municipalities in the Achterhoek with each other, through the ‘Links of the light’ we make a very personal connection with the light.
