Freedom and humanity are themes that continue to connect. Getting to know each other’s history and exchanging experiences about it is more important than ever in this day and age. The Freedom Quartet brings these themes to life with stories and monuments that make the history of our region visible. <\/p>\n
Input from the municipalities<\/h4>\n
The Freedom Quartet is an initiative within the Regional Program Freedom Achterhoek and Liemers. Since 2020, municipalities from this region have been working together on a cross-border program centered around freedom. Each municipality provided subjects they considered important to share. This makes the quartet a unique collection of stories deeply rooted in local history. <\/p>\n
The participating municipalities are:<\/p>\n
\n- Achterhoek:<\/strong> Aalten<\/a>, Berkelland<\/a>, Doetinchem<\/a>, Montferland<\/a>, Oost Gelre<\/a>, Winterswijk<\/a>, Bronckhorst<\/a>, Oude IJsselstreek<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- Liemers: <\/strong>Duiven<\/a>, Westervoort<\/a>, Zevenaar<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
